Blue Angels close encounter with a UFO

As the strange video obtained by TMZ featured in this post shows a UFO was spotted zipping past one of US Navy’s iconic Blue Angels F/A-18 Super Hornets while the team was performing during The Memorial Day air show on Long Island over Jones Beach, New York, on May 24, 2024.

The unidentified object only appears in the footage for about a millisecond the clip shows.

Before darting from the camera’s frame, the UFO glides directly in front of the F/A-18.

According to New York Post, the craft appeared to be approximately 36,500 to 41,000 feet in the air, according to a report filed with the National UFO Reporting Center.

Because of its incredible speed and the fact that the object left no trail as it departed forward it remains unclear what the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) could be.

UAP is the new term government agencies and officials use for what was once known as unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

UFO sightings from New York City

In 2023 UFO sightings from New York City were 30 according to the National UFO Reporting Center. An increase of 7% from the 28 reports from 2022 and 10% from the 27 reports from 2021.

As of 2024 57 UAP sightings in New York State have been documented by the center; about 11 of these have been disproved as being caused by airplanes, birds, rockets, or camera failures.

Blue Angels over Jones Beach

The Blues returned to Jones Beach where they performed at the inaugural Bethpage Air Show back in 2004. This marked the US Navy flight demonstration team‘s 10th performance.

The Blue Angels are now in their 78th year and have over 150 members.

The team says on its official website; ‘We are representatives from the fleet, showcasing the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps. We are thrilled to perform demonstrations across the country, sharing our Navy and Marine Corps experiences with our fellow Americans, bringing Naval aviation to communities across the country that may not have a large military presence.’
